What it covers.

Lago is the biggest brand in the section and comes in three formats: Party Wafers as a 250g family pack, Poker as a 45g bar or a 150g pack, and Roll Break as an 80g pack. Flavours start with chocolate, hazelnut and vanilla and go on to lemon, cappuccino, coconut and strawberry. Balconi has chocolate and hazelnut wafers in the same 250g size.

Poland follows, with Jutrzenka family packs and the single bars Prince Polo XXL, Kaliszanka Grześki and Nestlé Princessa. Roshen is Ukrainian, Bucuria and Franzeluta are Moldovan, Alka is Romanian and Kras is Croatian. Tago, Roshen and Franzeluta also make wafer rolls.

How it differs from cakes and mochi.

This section is crisp wafer layered with cream, plain or coated in chocolate. Soft baked lines such as croissants, sponge cakes and gingerbread are in Cakes, rolls & pastries, and mochi has a section of its own.

Chocolate-coated wafer bars such as Prince Polo XXL and Princessa are filed here.
