What is in the range.

Most of the range is the water that Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian and Ukrainian shoppers buy at home.

  • Polish water: Zywiec Zdroj, Cisowianka, Muszynianka, Naleczowianka and Kropla Beskidu, each in still and sparkling.
  • Central and Eastern European mineral water: Borsec and Aqua Carpatica from Romania, Akvile from Lithuania, Morshynska from Ukraine, Mangali from Latvia, Fatra and Rajec from Slovakia, Mattoni from Czechia, and Borjomi and Nabeghlavi.
  • Flavoured water: Kubus Water in fruit flavours, Zywiec Zdroj still water with lemon, apple, strawberry or raspberry, and aQuelle flavoured sparkling water from South Africa.
  • Western European brands: Volvic and San Pellegrino.
  • Plain still water for takeaways: Asya, in cases of 24 x 500ml.

Who makes the main brands.

Zywiec Zdroj was set up in 1992 at Cięcina, in Poland's Żywiec Landscape Park, and is part of the Danone group. Kubus is a brand of the Maspex group.

Still, sparkling and bottle sizes.

Most brands come at more than one level of carbonation: still, lightly carbonated and sparkling. The level is in the product title. Order the one your shoppers ask for, because a customer who drinks lightly carbonated water will often not take sparkling in its place.

The 1.5-litre bottle, six to a case, is the standard size. The 500ml bottle comes twelve to a case from most brands. There are also 700ml and 1-litre sport-cap bottles, 2-litre bottles and a 5-litre Zywiec Zdroj. Cisowianka, Kropla Beskidu and Muszynianka also come in glass, from 300ml to 750ml.

Every water line is ambient.

Deposit Return Scheme.

Water in PET plastic bottles and in cans from 150ml to 3 litres is in Ireland's Deposit Return Scheme, with a deposit of 15c up to and including 500ml and 25c above that. Glass bottles and the 5-litre size are outside the scheme; the Deposit Return Scheme guide sets out what a shop has to do. Last reviewed 5 October 2026.

What to range first.

A Polish or Eastern European shop starts with Zywiec Zdroj still in 1.5 litres and 500ml and one sparkling water such as Cisowianka or Muszynianka. Then add the mineral water of your own customers: Borsec for Romanian shoppers, Akvile for Lithuanian, Morshynska for Ukrainian.

Takeaways and delis need one plain 500ml still water by the case. Restaurants and cafés that serve water at the table should look at the glass bottles.
